The seed of a cricket club was sown in a coffee shop in Burnaby in October, 2006. A group of individuals, passionate about cricket, decided to form a club to promote cricket awareness amongst youngsters in Burnaby and to provide coaching for the young members with the ultimate goal of preparing them for participation in the National Cricket Team. Our membership includes amateur players, seasoned BCMCL players, and experienced cricketers who have played at inter-university and national levels back in India, Zimbabwe, etc.
Last season our club was unable to play under the BCMCL due to a lack of a home ground in Burnaby. The Management Committee has been actively lobbying Burnaby Parks and Recreation to provide our club with a home ground in order to play competitive cricket under the BCMCL. Our request has been tabled under the Burnaby Sportfield Master Plan and a second cricket field and pitch is in the planning process. But until then, we are keeping the enthusiasm and love of cricket alive through Indoor and outdoor Twenty/20 cricket.
Indoor Cricket: We play Indoor Cricket at the Cameron Recreation Center in Burnaby BC, every Sunday morning from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM. Indoor Cricket is played by club members from September to April. Sessions are followed by snacks which are generously donated by club membership. Typically games are played with 8 players aside, 12 overs each.
Outdoor Cricket: Outdoor Cricket is played at the Burnaby Lake Sports Complex in Burnaby BC on Saturday afternoons from 2 PM to 5 PM. Outdoor Cricket is played by club members from May to August. Typically games are played with 10 players aside, 20 overs each.
