PROGRAMS
Pre-Season Twenty20 Cricket
We start our outdoor cricket season in March with the BCMCL pre-season Twenty20 cricket tournament. Our club won the pre-season Twenty20 Championship in 2015. We generally field two teams in this tournament.
League Cricket
The outdoor cricket regular season starts on the last weekend of April and runs to the Labour Day weekend in September. Games are played on Saturdays and Sundays. Indcan Cricket Club will field four league teams playing in the British Columbia Mainland Cricket League (BCMCL) for the 2023 Season.
Junior Cricket
Indcan is pleased to start a junior cricket program in 2016. Training session for juniors is held once a week at our home ground in Sperling. Training sessions for juniors are managed by our senior, experienced players and include batting, bowling as well as fielding drills. This program is for kids aged 9 and over and they are trained with a regular wooden bat and a leather ball. Junior cricketers form a part of our Team IV in division 8.
Indoor Cricket
Indcan team members actively engage with cricket activities during the off season. Indoor games over the weekends and practice sessions during the evenings are a common highlight.
Six-A-Side
This was the first time that IndCan fielded a team in the Annual BCMCL Inter-Continental Six-A-Side tournament. 16 teams participated in the tournament with players from lower divisions to Elite level participating. The tournament was a grand success for IndCan who reached the semi-finals after some close games and amazing performance from our players. The club will continue to field teams in various formats of the game in the upcoming seasons.
